this is just initially a test to see how things go. More to come!
So far, I like the idea. Maybe the logo could look even nicer if blended with the blue color.
well, I stopped before going too far to test it.. lol and part of it worked. I am packing up some more to see whats what with other parts atm.
so yeah, I can't get the car to not be blue. I can add details, obviously, but it won't change color at all.
Wow, it's so gorgeous, this art is wonderful, i didn't know that your were such a talented painter-type artist, good work! Looking forward to more of your paintings!
wish I could take credit for the demon itself, tis but a googled image.
though to be fair, I can certainly do my own stuff.
Anyone know why it stays blue though?
Ok, the TDXconverter doesn't work for me as it should, been meaning to ask Trent about it.
I used a whacko workaround to get my nudie peds to come out the right color.
I use PhotoShop so I was able to flip the red and green channels and then change the hue of the entire image 120 degress. This made their skin an ice blue color. But in game it went back to being fleshtones. I'll need to figure out why it doesn't work out of the box because it's a real hacky way of doing it.
It's a problem with the A8R8G8B8 image format used for uncompressed TDX images. I'll upload a fixed version now.
You also should be using DXT5 compression on car textures by adding the --d5 switch to command line, compressed formats were not broken. The uncompressed A8R8G8B8 format which it uses if you don't have that switch is only used on small UI elements in the game. Massive textures NEED to be compressed.
EDIT: Here's the fixed version: http://trent.incarnated.co.uk/downloads/GibbedTools.zip - it includes some handy .BAT files for various compression tasks. Use the one called CompressDXT5.
where do you add the --d5? I mean, I get the command line, but where exactly do you type it in at? if you double click on the converter exe, it opens and then immediately closes, I don't even have time to read anything it says. And if it's during the actual conversion, that happens way too fast to type anything as well. Besides that I have no idea where to type that..
Just use the bat files in that update. Drop the images over CompressDXT5 and it will handle it for you.
Just so you're aware, when you're told to add a switch to a command line that means opening up the windows Command Prompt, navigating to the folder and running the program from there with the switch added after the program's name, such as: Gibbed.Duels.TdxConvert.exe --d5 "path\to\your\image.png"
