is that shadows i'm seeing with that barrier handle-thing? Also, there doesnt seem to be any smoothing between polygons, i'm guessing that this a big issue to figure out with that particular filetype, eh?
I'm pretty sure that shadow is part of the texture. And yeah, smoothing and the rest of it is still on my todo list. Currently I'm calculating my own normals instead of using the mesh ones too.
Also, with regards to import/export, I'll aim at FBX although I've never used that myself.
