The game barely released and you guys are already modding it, awesome!

To Errol: Will your model viewer/modifier have exporting functions to the models for the most common formats?

Possibly. I have no idea what's even considered a common format anymore. It was 3ds back in the day.

FBX is basically the industry standard interchange format these days, though I hear the SDK is a bit of a nightmare.

Personally i still love 3dsmax & .3ds files.

Finally updated the first post again (sry for the delay) with links to the posts about Errol's model viewer (that have images) a link to Trent's reflecting vehicles, and a link to the update of his tweaked gibbed tools.

Meanwhile, i've started working on a package of powerups (the reason i made that installer) but its been taking me a while to figure out how to get the powerup's xml to do what i want, but im finally getting somewhere, even if its not perfectly matching up with what i want.

Spoiler:
As an example (for those that have seen a powerup .xml) i made one called ped fireworks, the idea is that peds fly up for x amount of time and then explode into gibs. The problem is, any attempt at a timer (even as simple as having a number decrease to 0 and reset) didn't seem to be possible, i've tried numerous combinations, from adding custom stuff too CParameters (and reading them from pParameters further down) to defining locals in <START_ACTION> that then update in <CONTINUOUS_ACTION>, none seemed to allow me to have a piece of code fire every x seconds of the powerup being active. The most i got out of it was mayor lag hehe (prolly the powerup giving off hughe number of errors, but i have no way to tell). Any tips are greatly appreciated.
.

As a 'work around' i just used the pre-defined functionality's as best i could, now you hold down the powerup key to launch peds and when you release they gib, still satisfying hehe.

(For anybody having mental alarm bells go off reading the above, pre-alpha, without any sort of documentation, so dont take anything of the above as being an indicator for the retail game, you boob.)

More on that package later :D

Oh nooooo no no no, please do not use 3ds, all the polygonal smoothing will be lost in the importing/exporting process, it also breaks the scale of the object. Try using the ".obj" format, it seems to support polygon smoothing and animation and materials.

woah, errol, you're doing a great job with this, is that shadows i'm seeing with that barrier handle-thing? Also, there doesnt seem to be any smoothing between polygons, i'm guessing that this a big issue to figure out with that particular filetype, eh?
