yeah, i get what you mean, honestly though, i think they enjoy that we get excited enough to tear the game to pieces and actually put it back together again at the same time, it's a good show of interest that we can't wait.

edit: nope, only trent can edit from 5 minutes in the future, watch just sync'd by radio at 3am too, weird.

I've been keeping up with Nobby's tweets about the .lol files but no luck accessing them. Im not too familiar with decompiling LUAs but I tried one for 5.1 and gave a bad header error.

About the numpad thing i did manage to change my keys again, i had thought i was changing the right part of the config file, but i had to go back to the file and double check that there wasnt any extra double up on the keys and then i found the right place to put the modifed part of the config file back, so now all i have to do is save the dang thing lol.

If you hang around in our IRC channel you might already have noticed, but basically Errol has got the lua file access sorted, just prompting him to come and announce now, but you can check on his site if you're in a hurry ;)

Many thanks for warming up the crowd matt-

To reiterate what's already on my site the .lol files are standard compile LUA 5.1 with a single byte changed. Just crack open a .lol in a hex editor, change the 6th byte from 5F to 00 and save. UNLUAC will now decompile.

Easy as that.

I read the source of UNLUAC.

Anyhoo, more .lol news.

No need to recompile the .lol after decompiling. Plaintext works!

Just to confirm LuaDec5.1 also works for decompling LOL files with the byte change Errol discovered.

Edit: I've PM'd Espyo to ask him to move this thread to the public forum so Paypal backers can contribute and see what we're doing here.
